Modernizing Operations and ERP Systems for a Leading Multi-City F&B Chain

Paradise Biryani partnered with Yodaplus to move from a single-vendor code takeover to a full operations stack - digitizing warehouse quality checks, replacing manual store order-taking, building ML-driven analytics, and standing up a parallel ERP layer integrated with the client's Microsoft Navision system and its planned migration to Business Central.

Client Overview

The engagement began as a code takeover - Paradise Biryani migrated maintenance of their consumer-facing OwnApp (an order-and-delivery platform with a single backend and native Android/iOS apps) from a previous vendor to Yodaplus.

Maintenance quickly grew into active development. Yodaplus built out a loyalty program and a delivery fleet vendor onboarding system, then expanded into microservice-based web properties for wallet recharge, the Paradise Pass campaign, and NPS feedback collection.

In Q4 2025, the client sunset OwnApp itself while keeping every one of these microservices running - a testament to the standalone value they had built up independently of the parent app.

From there, the engagement expanded into more transformative, operations-focused systems: digitized quality management, direct-to-ERP order taking, ML-driven analytics, and a parallel ERP layer.

The Challenge

As the relationship grew beyond app maintenance, several operational gaps became clear:

Manual, paper-based quality logging across warehouse processes - raw meat, marinated meat, dry goods, floor inspections, and vehicle inspections - was slow and error-prone.

Store order-taking relied on a write-it-down-then-walk-to-cashier flow, adding friction to every customer order and slowing store turnover.

Existing PowerBI reporting couldn't surface customer sentiment, operations metrics, platform metrics, or store-level sales summaries the client needed.

ERP coverage gaps left several operational modules outside the scope of the client's Microsoft Navision system, with a planned migration to Microsoft Dynamics Business Central still ahead.

Left unaddressed, these gaps limited how efficiently the business could run quality control, store operations, and reporting at scale.

The Solution

Yodaplus built a connected set of systems to close each of these gaps, integrated with the client's existing ERP and data infrastructure:

Quality Management System (QMS)

Digitized the client's warehouse quality processes, replacing pen-and-paper logging with direct digital entry. Now a module inside the client's broader ERP.

Steward App

A serverless AWS system letting store staff take and settle customer orders directly, integrated with the client's Microsoft Navision ERP - eliminating the old write-it-down-then-walk-to-cashier flow. Built serverless from day one for global scalability.

Data Analytics Platform

Built on Databricks and the client's Azure Data Lake, using ML to generate reports the client couldn't get from their existing PowerBI setup - customer sentiment, operations metrics, platform metrics, and sales summaries, now including weekly store-level insights sourced from the Steward App. A custom Data Foundry layer with a backfill engine keeps reporting reliable even on days with data gaps.

Parallel ERP

A custom AWS-based ERP layer housing modules outside Navision's scope - built to integrate directly with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central as the client migrates onto that platform.

Key Outcomes

Impact Area Before After
Warehouse Quality Reporting Full day of manual, pen-and-paper logging 2-4 hours, with significantly fewer transcription errors
Store Order Taking Write-it-down-then-walk-to-cashier flow Direct digital order taking via Steward App
Store Rollout Manual flow across all stores 7 pilot stores, scaling to 53 within two months
Reporting & Analytics Limited to existing PowerBI setup ML-generated sentiment, operations, platform, and sales insights
ERP Coverage Modules outside Navision's scope Custom parallel ERP, integrating with Business Central

Benefits

  • 1

    Reduced Operational Risk:
Replacing pen-and-paper logs with direct digital entry gives the client a traceable, audit-ready record of warehouse quality checks, reducing the risk of missed inspections or lost paperwork.

  • 2

    Freedom from Vendor Lock-In:
Taking ownership of OwnApp's code, and building every new system in-house from the ground up, means the client no longer depends on an external vendor to maintain or extend its core technology.

  • 3

Decisions Backed by Data the Client Didn't Have Before:
Leadership can now act on customer sentiment, operations, and sales insights that the existing PowerBI setup simply couldn't produce.

  • 4

    A Foundation Built to Grow:
Every system - from the serverless Steward App to the parallel ERP layer - was built with multi-store, multi-city scale in mind, so growth doesn't require re-architecting the stack.

  • 5

    Continuity Through Change:
Even as the client sunset OwnApp and began migrating from Navision to Business Central, the underlying microservices and new systems kept running without disruption - proof the architecture doesn't depend on any single app or ERP.
